What do People Say About US?
'I applied for Ucas last year but I didn't get any offers that I wanted. So, this year I reapplied.
Julian and David were extremely helpful. First, I researched some courses myself. Then I brainstormed my chosen course, history, with David. David was able to be give some good suggestions about how to write the personal statement having studied history at University himself. This included suggestions for things that I should do to stand out on the personal statement. Things like going to the Archives to do a research project and reading original books rather than the standard books that everybody reads before University. After I had done this I came up with a very long draft of my personal statement. With numerous drafts being sent to both David and Julian we tightened up the writing, and made my statement stand out. Despite this intense editing my statement was still very personal and it was obvious that it was me who wrote it. One particular talent that they have is for cutting words and phrasing things in nice ways which is very important for the statement.
David and Julian have so much experience with UCAS and they know so many tricks that help you get into uni. For instance, I did not apply to straight history at all five of my chosen Universities. I applied to modern history and economic history at places that are harder to get into. It is important to take into account what you want from Uni and they will discuss this with you too. They are very knowledgable on a wide range of courses and they know which universities you should apply to so that you are guaranteed offers. Unfortunately, university applications are quite political at the moment but David and Julian will help you to make sure that you have the highest chance of getting into the place that you want.'
